Here in Middletown, Wednesday AT THE BUTTONWOOD TREE on Main Street, In honor of Women’s History Month, The Buddhist Faith Fellowship is offering a screening of the film “Blessings” at 7 pm at the Buttonwood tree. Blessings is narrated by Richard Gere, filmed in Tibet, tells the story of 3000 nuns living in the remote nomadic region of Nangchen in Eastern Tibet who practice an ancient yogic tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Friday night the Buttonwood hosts an Americana Double Bill: with North Carolina’s Humble Tripe and Southenr California’s Carolann Ames. Saturday night, The Lost Queen of New Orleans Soul, Singer Betty Harris and the Breaking News Band graces the Buttonwood stage for an 8pm show. Every Sunday, Food Not Bombs shares food about 1 pm in front of the Buttonwood. All are welcome.
