Board Meeting 10/6/2020
1. staff meeting tech
— we need to get the word out about, and we need to make it happen. Two thoughts are that Jon Johnson said that if we need large scale meeting tech, he can hook us up. He is open to hooking us up on our own. i gotta imagine that google offers the service as well, we have a google group that we work with. If there is a way to seamlessly do it via google. I haven’t talked to them.
— Amy has called ITS many times, submited a new ticket. Ben M assumed that he would have access as a staff member, but they don’t give it out sparingly. Leith might know who the director contact is. Ben could make a couple of calls — as a student group we constantly get pressure from the folks over at SALD and the SBC the staffers want us to explore those avenues. Its a balance we have to try to keep. Anyhow: can someone just look into our google account to offer up video conferencing. Can’t imagine that’s a huge offer, whether or not we can utilise it or there are concerns over it.
— Leith googled google meets participants and there is a maximum of 100 for 60 minutes for free.
— hopefully there will be greater attendants at this meeting because its our first one in a long time. — NEXT STEP: Ben will reach out to Jon Johnson.
2. Ben Spencer reaching out to fall program
— ben will follow up on the couple of shows that aren’t delivering on their material.
— personal issues are sensitive so we are keeping the names of the record.
3. Program guide design
— ben S has that marked as something he is going to work on after the work he does tomorrow.
— draft stage hopefully by the end of the week. The last minute tweaks about fall program before we finalise the prints.
— great line to add to communication to folks who haven’t been delivering on their shows.
4. T-shirt designs
— ben’s thoughts on this is that if there is anyone on the board to run with this. We open it up on the staff meeting. If anyone can make that pitch, if anyone is interested and wants to run with it. To finalise a design within the next weeks. If there is someone that is interested and eager to run with this.
— Lulu been working on a moon man with headphones. Planting a WESU flag.
— Ben S was talking about opening it up for stickers.
— Amy was thinking we can ask to a bunch of people.
— What if it was alien rather than a moon man. The reptilian man .
5. Budget meeting
— Ben and Lulu will have another meeting about this. — Lulu is submitting budget this week.
6. Training
— Amy is working on this. Not a ton of updates. The last thing we were trying to do is that determining the number of sessions.
— the ideal number is six. The timeline we’re making, that’d be great. We could start middle of October. Have that practical and some kind of written exam by the time finals are over.
— Ben S: if we wanted to have all six weeks while we’re “on” campus, we should aim to start the following week. Throwing it out there because we’re gonna do the two sessions.
— training is not for staff, but we normally recruit people to start. Not a lot of opportunities, left the itch. We’re moving forward here. Get a semblance of fall training as we can. Want to try and get some sort of acknowledgement slash full slate of our ad hoc board
7. ENTIRE team gets into debate about the top albums question.
