WESU Celebrates Hip-Hop History Month & International Education Week
In association with Wesleyan’s Albritton Center, WESU presents two great events to commemorate Hip-Hop History Month and International Education Week.
First up, is an evening with New Haven native Hip Hop artist and educator Akua Naru (Nasir Jones Fellow at Harvard University) who will discuss her own body of work, the role of women in Hip Hop history, and reflect on the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop! This free event happens at Wesleyan’s Ring Family Theater on Tuesday 11/14 at 6pm and is free and open to the public.
Up next is A Conversation with Banning Eyre, who will discuss his work with Peabody award winning international public radio show and podcast, AfroPop Worldwide. If we are lucky, he might even play us a song!
This free event happens at Wesleyan’s Ring Family Theater (287 Washington Terrace, Middletown, CT 06459) on Thursday 11/16 at 6pm and is open to the public.
