$30k Spring/Summer Drive
It’s May again and here in Connecticut, one day the rain is falling and the next the sun is shining and flowers are growing. Spring is a wonderful time to put on some sweet music and celebrate another new season with WESU Middletown. The Spring 2024, 85th ANNIVERSARY Pledge Drive is officially underway, and without listener support, it would be impossible to broadcast WESU’s unique blend of music and public affairs content. The station’s curation of freeform radio shows is made possible by over 100 volunteer student and community member DJ’s, two part-time employees, and one full-time General Manager. WESU is funded through financial support from Wesleyan University, the Wesleyan Student Assembly, and, most importantly, listeners like you! This spring, many of station’s long running, established shows continue to provide stellar content and students have worked hard to bring back the legacy program, Wild Wild Live, which features live in-studio music performances! WESU staff and volunteers have remained hard at work serving the community for the past 85 years through both ideal and subpar conditions for volunteer broadcasters. Your support during our spring/summer pledge drive will ensure they can continue to hold down the fort and make great strides!
To wrap up another successful year of radio, WESU is counting on listeners to support the service they depend on with donations during the spring/summer pledge drive. The 85-year-old community radio station needs to close a 30K budget gap before their (June 30) fiscal year-end. As an incentive, the station is offering a variety of tee-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, tote-bags, and coffee mugs through their online shop. Some of these items are branded for the 85th anniversary, while others are being offered to support specific programs.
There are three ways for patrons to support WESU financially.
