Staff Meeting Notes 3/4/18

Beth/President

  • Elections upcoming!
  • No Staff meeting in April!
  • Record fair date secured: April 21st in Beckham Hall (normal spot) 10-4, free from 11-4
  • We’ve been listening to shows in the interest of keeping a balanced program

 

Ruth/Helly/Music

  • Keep playing 5 new releases every show!
  • Digital music file on the computer in studio A
  • Email any requests for records from Redscroll!

 

Dillon/Events

  • Look out for volunteer emails going out this week for the Record Fair
    • Looking for drivers, movers, ~5 DJs who want to spin vinyl, merch table staffers (very important for early bird hour because of the entrance fee)
    • Loadin at 8/9am
  • Idea for future record fairs/events: Incorporating non-WESU affiliated merch tables (a la Usdan clothing vendors)
  • RF Revenue Goal: ~$1500 (last semester’s haul)
  • Email Dillon if you want to have any sort of concert or event on campus

 

Xandra/Public Affairs

  • New Public File
    • New FCC rules require us to publish this
    • Ensures that we’re playing what we say we’re playing
    • Thank you Xandra!
  • Promos for upcoming non-WESU events welcomed

 

Cormac/Tech

  • Wesleyan Consulting Group cannot help us with web development
  • Going to spend Spring Break refurbishing the WESU website
    • Mobile app no longer logistically viable

 

Meg/Program

  • Spring break coverage signups are out!

 

Luke/Production

  • Listening to shows — shouts out to Jazzalicious and Weekly Catchup!
  • Pledge Drive Video!
  • Make promos! Every show should have one
    • Same promos are being played because people aren’t refreshing FUBAR
    • Promo CDs will be in the studio

Babe/VP

  • Uploading shows — helped create a few new Mixclouds for shows this week — great way to archive your content in an organized/permanent way online

  • Next meeting will be our election meeting!
  • New transmitter is up and running!
    • Use the privilege this gives us in terms of broadcasting to be selective with the quality of what you broadcast!
