213. Mango Mangue by Charlie Parker and Machito
Year Released: 1948

Nominated by Bill Denert of Evening Jazz who says: A delicious eclectic mix of Afro-Cuban beat with a searing sax solo by Bird. Stays in the mind forever!
214. Kids by MGMT
Year Released: 2005
Released On: Oracular Spectacular-official Hand burned CD- this example
Nominated by Robbie of Homegrown who says: It’s certainly no secret that massively popular MGMT was a Wesleyan act first. I cajoled keyboard/vocalist Ben to burn a CD for. Homegrown-they had none at the time. The CD is comprised of their first compositions- many which make their first major release. The version of “kids” is slightly longer than the single eventually. released to massive acclaim-but primarily the same.
also nominated by DJ MTSPEN of Storytime/Yma Sumac Radio Program.
215. Supper’s Ready by Genesis
Year Released: 1972
Released On: Foxtrot
Nominated by Rob of Chocolate Cake who says: The ultimate side-long progressive rock epic. Greek mythology, odd time signatures, 12-string guitars, Taurus bass pedals, flute solos…..it’s all here. And while many prog band’s twenty-minute tracks drag on forever and easily lose your attention, Genesis’ grand epic has enough twists, turns and recapitulations to hold your interest. A flower!
216. Peace by Taylor Swift
Year Released: 2020
Released On: Folklore
Nominated by DJ Black Butterfly of Late Nite Emo who says: Peace is a criminally underrated Taylor Swift song. It is so beautifully raw and honest and one of her best love songs
217. All I Want by The Manchurians
Year Released: 2001
Released On: All For One
Nominated by Robbie of Homegrown who says: The Manchurians are a hard rocking/bluesy band led by songwriter/bassist Roger C. Reale. This song was picked from their repertoire because it also features original Animal/CT resident Hilton Valentine and Peter Detmold, from New London’s Reducers.
218. There’s a Moon out tonight by Capri’s
Year Released: 1960
Released On: Planet
Nominated by Joel from Queens who says: One of the top falsetto leads
219. Degausser by Brand New
Year Released: 2006
Released On: The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Nominated by Chris of Crispix & Everything Now who says: From what is generally recognized as their best release, this is the only song on the album written by all four members and it shows. The only flaw in this recording is no one knows the actual lyrics to much of the chorus – not even the band.
220. Autume Leaves by Miles Davis and Cannonball Adderley
Year Released: 1958
Released On: Somethin’ Else
Nominated by Bill Denert of Evening Jazz who says: Jazz standard recorded by many artists. Miles’ version is mellow and a great addition while relaxing and sipping your favorite wine.
