Back in Action for 2015

Hello Everyone!

WESU is back in action for the new year and off to a great start! We are (in some ways) still riding the high of the Winter Pledge Drive. This year, we will be able to put some of the money raised towards valuable station upgrades, which will be a big help and is all thanks to you, our listeners, staff, and fundraisers. So thank you so much for the support and the effort and the sweat and the tears.
That fundraising high has pushed us into the spring season, which started last Monday, February 2nd. Please find the spring schedule of all station programming by following this link: https://wesufm.org/programming/schedule/Due to some times having been switched around, students having come back from semesters off and abroad, and others having found new areas of creative pursuit, the schedule is updated in big ways from last semester and better than ever.
We have a lot of new content to offer. Highlights include:
Think Twice Radio, with Al Robinson: The undertaking of “Think Twice Radio” is to reassert the “watchdog” role of media by ramping up coverage of Connecticut issues in a nonpartisan manner.
— Hot Tune Time Machine, with the Kaiser and DJ LT: Would Blackbeard listen to sea-punk? Would Marie Antoinette love EDM? We’re curating modern playlists by historical figures. Fun facts included.
— Fastest Gun in the West, with DJ Zing and DJ Ping: Two Western gals, one radio show, and a lot of trouble. Tune in for a smattering of music and tales of the Old West.
— Music, Eh?!, with DJ Northern Lights: Canadian music from Juno award winners to up and coming artists. From coast to coast, an array of the wide variety of artists Canada has to offer.
— Just a Game, with DJ Koopa Troopa and DJ Nokonoko: Tune in for a variety of video game music, from classic chiptunes to modern-day epic themes and soundscapes.
Also, stay tuned for some big changes on the website this semester, as our podcasting crew kicks off their efforts (more info to come soon). This means that all sorts of new programming will be coming from WESU, so get psyched. Additionally, the online archive of station history is in the process of getting a major update.
Finally, the Best of Hartford Readers’ Poll is out for 2015, and we would love if you would vote for us as the BEST. You can vote by clicking on this link here: http://ct-survey.wehaaserver.com/survey-20-best_of_hartford_readers_poll_2015.html
We appreciate your support, always.
Best,
Tess
