Thursday MANIC PRODUCTIONS and FISTFUL OF JOKES Present a night of comedy at café nine with Neil Hamburger, Duncan Trussell; and Dan Rice. Friday night Sarah Lou Richards; w/ Mike Clifford make for an early set of night of Nashville twang at 6:30/. Tonight at the Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, the “Evening Oasis” Belly Dance crew Presents – their annual fundraiser for The Buttonwood Tree and Thursday night brings the Monthly Writers Out Loud Open Mic to the Buttonwood.
Friday night, The Buttonwood welcomes Amandla, an original roots reggae ensemble featuring five internationally renowned reggae artists: YahKali, Ras Iba, Toussaint the Liberator, Tuff Lion, and Burnie T.
Saturday brings the buttonwoods annual “Bloomsday” event celebrating James Joyce’s literary legacy. This year’s event is hosted by Abby Reynolds and features live music by Full Gael followed, by an Open Mic.
Food Not Bombs shares food about 1 pm in front of the Buttonwood Tree every Sunday. All are welcome to enjoy the meal and help prepare the food at the First Church on Court Street at 11:30 am.
Later at 4pm on Sunday, the monthly Poetry Potluck gathering offers an opportunity for people who enjoy poetry to get together to share and discuss their favorite works. It isn’t an open mike.
