Tonight, Infinity Hall in Norfolk presents the Brubeck Brothers quartet. The Oak Ridge Boys take the stage Saturday night and Tommy Emmanuel returns to Infinity Hall on Sunday. More at

Café Nine’s Saturday afternoon Jazz Jam will be hosted by Tony Dioguardi and Friends. Saturday night Blue Plate Radio and Taste Of New Haven Present: a summer evening of culinary delights strolling through Downtown New Haven and ending with a world-class jazz, funk, and R&B show! Down in New Haven at Toads Place tonight is the Summer Slam Fest and Saturday night Shakedown plays the Grateful Dead And Beyond on the Toad’s main stage. Rhythmic Circus and Carbonated Insight open that show. More can be found at toadsplace.com
Tonight in Hartford at Blackeyed Sally’s blues performer Dave Keller takes the Sally’s stage at 9pm and Saturday night, the Delta Generators take the stage there. More can be found at blackeyedsallys.com
Saturday at Center Church on the Green on Temple Street in New Haven “The Tallest Man on Earth” and “Strand of Oaks” will perform at 7:00pm. More info can be found at manicproductions.org
Here in Middletown tonight Vinnie’s Jump ‘n’ Jive presents a salsa dance party. More about dance classes and events for young and old can be found at vinniesjumpandjive.com.
Also, here in Middletown tonight, Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts presents Steve Scionti’s “Hear What’s In The Heart: A Shoemaker’s Tale” at 8 pm in the CFA Theater. Middletown’s own Steve Scionti brings to life all the passion, comedy and drama inherent in a Sicilian-American family in a play co-written by director Anthony Crivello. On Friday night, at The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, J Cherry and the Strawberries will perform a variety show entitled Voice of the City. This is a variety show from the heart of the community with performers of every style and sound, living, working, and creating in the city of Middletown and the surrounding area. It’s poetry, dance, song, comedy, and bits of wisdom. Where the community is the theater. Saturday night is a double header with Alli and the Oxen Frees and folk group Mumblty-Peg performing a benefit concert, with proceeds going towards Pathways To Go, Inc. The show starts at 8pm. Food Not Bombs shares food about 1 pm in front of The Buttonwood Tree every Sunday. All are welcome to the meal and are also invited to help prepare the food at the First Church on Court Street at 11:30 am. This Saturday also brings the return of the CT Traditional Jazz Fest to SHERATON FOUR POINTS HOTEL in Meriden. This year’s festival features The Midiri Brothers, Galvanized Jazz Band, The Heartbeat Jazz Band, and more. More can be found online at greatctjazz.org
Tis the season for farmers’ markets and here’s a few in our area:
The Durham Farmers Market is open every Thursday on the Town Green on Main St, from 3-6:30pm now thru Sept. The Middletown North End Farmers Market is open from10am-2pm every Friday and is located at the corner of Liberty and Main Streets. The longstanding Middletown farmers’ market is located on the south Green and is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. now through October.
